Opinion
What is an op-ed?

An op-ed piece derives its name from originally having appeared opposite the editorial page in a newspaper. Today, the term is used more widely to represent a column that represents the strong, informed, and focused opinion of the writer on an issue of relevance to a targeted audience. It is an opportunity for one to share their opinions without fear of judgement. Writers can choose to publish under their own name or under a pen name, but should always do so sensibly.
Message from the Editors-in-chief
To further extend our mission to amplify the voices of our generation, we have decided to establish this opinion column as a safe space to provide an additional avenue to encourage writers to express their opinions. Whether it be through the use of a pen name or your own name, we want you all to be brave and speak your truth. What topic makes you eager to protest about? What topic do you think needs to be brought to the forefront of our media?
